§ 38-5. Meaning of words and phrases.

(a)

All words and phrases are to be interpreted within the context of the sentence, subsection, section, subdivision, division and article in which they occur.

(b)

Words and phrases defined.

(1)

Words and phrases defined in this zoning ordinance shall be interpreted as defined without regard to other meanings in common or ordinary use, unless the context of the word or phrase indicates otherwise.

(2)

Words and phrases not defined in this zoning ordinance but defined in appendix B: Development Code or in any other ordinance of the city are to be used in the interpretation of this zoning ordinance if the context is appropriate.

(3)

Words and phrases not defined in this zoning ordinance or in any other ordinance of the city shall be construed to have the meaning given by common and ordinary use as defined by Webster's Third New International Dictionary.
